HKS Catback. Still Make?
Ok guys. All my time on these forums I have heard you can't get it anymore. I have seen some pop up used from time to time and they sell quick if the seller is willing to ship it. I have a VRS on my b14 and don't mind doing it again for the B13. But rather do this. Trying to get a good stock like look with low noise and an upgrade at the same time and only spending my money once and spending in one place. Here is a link I came across. Anyone else ran across this or have dealt with this company?
HKS Sport Catback Exhaust Nissan Sentra SE-R 1991-1994 1992 1993 LES-N04

I was not able to find a search on the HKS site or be able to select my car and to be able to run a reference for the parts numbers given. Anyhow, if I stand corrected or mis-informed let me know. I can handle it. Thanks guys!

I sent this company a message. We'll see what happens and I'll post it.

By searching on this term "HKS Sport Catback LES-N04" using Google, I found several other possibilities. Try it out....

Hey thanks. I have googled it and also have been looking. Based on all I've found looks like I'll still be able to locate one. Waiting on a VRS price too.

I have driven over a hundred thousand miles on both (each) of these systems. The VRS that I ran was with a 2.5" Magnaflow resonator and a 5"x8" Magnaflow muffler. A couple of things that you might want to be aware of: 1) the HKS is 60 mm, which is pretty much exactly 2 and 3/8" (2.38"). So it falls right between 2 of the most popular sizes available from VRS (2.25" and 2.5"). 2) In back to back testing on a dyno, I found significant gains in the mid-range and high RPMs when I moved to the 2.5" VRS system compared to the HKS system (but I was running S3 cams). 3) Finally, and perhaps most importantly, my VRS system was significantly louder than the HKS. Both are perfectly acceptable and reasonable in sound, but the HKS is more refined -- basically it's pretty quiet until you open the throttle. Then it sounds sporty. The VRS was not objectionable by any means and didn't drone. It was just louder at lower throttle settings.

I hope that this helps. I always liked the HKS -- good fitment and appearance. Quality piece with good sound. I also like the VRS systems and have bought several of them as well. VRS gave me good service and their stuff fits well also.

That link from your first post was the last place I saw new HKS available and that was ~3 years ago maybe more.
The person who posted that link the last time iirc said that when he called they had 10 units remaining inventory.
Also it was on sale for $390 or so back then.

I heard they are a good outfit but doubt they still have it but a few people had good results with that company I believe.

Yeah I know what to expect in the VRS. I have one on my B14. I would want the HKS for the results that you (billc) mentioned. If I can't run across one than no biggie. Gonna call some of the places I came across on google and see what hits and what doesn't. I know whats on the car now needs to be replaced.

I actually have this system on my B13. I would recommend it to anyone. I have the VRS on my NX and I had it, drones so bad. I am seriously thinking about putting the stock exhaust back on it.

I loved my old hks sport cat back it was fairly quiet on a DE with s3's and a test pipe with a nice note . It is allmost stock looking minus the tip so its not a real cop maganet . I never made a dyno test before and after but with all the mods on my old de I put down 161whp . Personly if your going to run one up here in the north east winters and wonderful road salt spray a few extra coats of ceramic paint on there as they are mild steel thats coated and they rust fairly quick . These are cheap now i rember paying $500 for one back in 2000 .
