As a result, in my opinion, you are much better off with a full 2.5" exhaust for any VE.

Saw similar gains with the HKS vs. an exhaust cutout in place of the cat on a basically stock VE. I didn't choose the HKS for maximum hp but did for OEM fit, stealthy look and quiet sound.

Wow. I always said the megan catback (essentially a 2.25 even though most call it 2.5) choked my VE. Now I know how much.

IMO an HKS with a cutout on a VE is the perfect DD/stealth rig.

Is there a resonator with the HKS cat-back exhaust?

Hey - do you have pics of your exhaust cut-out? Where did you put it? How do you switch back and forth?

I never said "I" found it. Just spreading the

Thanks Jonathon. I called the guy up about 3 times making sure that it was in stock in the warehouse. I figured if it was really in stock and came within a week's time like they said, great. If not, I'd just cancel the order. Fortunately for me it showed up in less than 5 days.

Yes, a resonator behind the cat and a large muffler in the rear.

Ben- The L train USED to roll with more but he is getting old now so he will go into stealth mode.

Chris- It's out of the box and ready to go in.

J- The HKS has what seems to be a short (maybe 14" didn't measure) bullet style resonator.

The HKS is 60mm which is between 2.25" and 2.5". For the record, VE's like a big exhaust. The bigger the better it's been documented over and over again so it's not a secret there. I was running a 2.5 VRS w/ Magnaflow and I know I am going to lose power. Like MyprojectB13 I wanted something with OEM fit and quiet. I don't mind sacrificing HP for a daily cruiser. The law enforcement in my area are kind of uptight about modded cars.

I am thinking of making a test pipe out of an exhaust cutout. Like one of these: http://www.jegs.com/p/Flowtech/744747/10002/-1/11529

Just figured I'd share the deal that MyprojectB13 found for me. I think the price went down another 10 plus bucks or so since when I ordered it. So if this is what you're looking for, then don't pass this deal up!

Exactly what I'm running in the 3" version with a Qtec bolted to the end. You would be better off with the 2.5" version as the 3" 2-bolt flanges are a little big to bolt up with the HKS and SSAC header.

Yeah I was thinking the 2.5" with a Qtec as well.
