Because they only like to post up stuff that they know they are gonna be able to follow through with.

260whp would have been way too far fetched for them. Impossible, probably not. But so highly unlikely especially with what they had posted up they were gonna use to do so. Not a chance.

I just find it funny, when that B15 fellow was arguing back and forth, and I pointed out the fundamental issues with both the QR and the B15 chassis, he seemingly avoided every single issue I brought up and instead, insisted it best to start a comparison between the engines and then bringing non stock and turbo into the mix..........Useless as far as a knowledgeable debate is concerned in my book.

I normally shy away from ignorance and senseless debate, hence why I stopped posting in the past

Now I see why the OGs and pioneers stay away from the boards...........

I think I am going back into hiding as well. The comedy show is over and now its back to the cave

I find it funny to humor them and entertain the idiots on occasion. That whole debate thread was 22 pages of worthless crap that turned into them getting butt hurt and calling me names. Thats what it resorted down to because they knew they were backed into a corner. So what if the guys can drive good. Id say 50% of their "record breaking runs" were all driver not power, the other chassis setup. Thats why they say fast car, fast driver. They could probably make a geo metro look fast around a track and "break records" Its a lot to do with driver.

Had nothing to do with the QR, while it had slightly more power torque than their old beat to crap DE, it was mainly all driver.

^^ Actually, I think it had more to do with "setup" more than anything else

Take a look at their suspension setup and you will see what I am talking about.
Also, the big time records were set in VQ powered car (more torque, power and revs than what the RTR guys put out with the QR) with big time developement, Hoosiers , and tons of time in the suspension arena.

But in the same breathe, they like to mention and compare themselves PD (read: RTR). Yes, RTR did set a record at Road Atlanta, but, it has taken what, almost 10 years for another team to come close to this record with a entirely new engine, years of suspension development, Hoosiers, hours upon hours of track time, etc??

And do not forget, in 03, RTR were required to run on Toyo T1S, which were not anywhere near as fast as the oversized Hoosiers of today (we are talking about 3-5 secs easily)

I give them massive amounts of credit as I have watched this cars development (they were setting times close to Porsche GT3 times, if I remember correctly), but at the end of the day, I see a bunch of hype and ill comparisons.........

Throw a VQ and some hoosiers on the RTR car, and it will be a solid 5-6 seconds faster than the times where they set their record.

It seems again, in my book, ill comparisons, but to each their own..........

Impressive yes. But, call it as it is..............

Just my 2 cents.......

Sorry, I don't buy into the hype machine.

Duh, really??

Joe is a great driver, I'm great with chassis setup.

We pulled a 1:43 around Road Atlanta with a 181whp QR, that record still stands. The previous record of 1:46 was ours.

We've whittled down our old track records not because we have to be faster to win, but because we want to accomplish a personal goal. RTR set a benchmark in a like car and on a track we run.

RTR 1:35.2
2J Racing 1:36.2

RTR showed up on with a semi and a team. They had a budget, access to engineers, etc.

It's me and Joe. So tell the world more about our race team since you're an expert on the matter.

it's not hype, we are proud of what we have done, with as little as we have had to do it.

My point is this, and quiet simple

VQ vs QR
Hoosiers vs T1S

I agree, yes, you have to have a goal. Completely understand

But, just like what B15 said, we are comparing apples to oranges when it comes down to it

I have nothing to say about your race team at all. BUT, what I do have a say in is FACTS!!

Every person out there who is remotely into (race) cars knows hoosiers are worth thier weight in gold. When we went from V700 to Hoosiers, without making any changes on our race car, it garnered us more than 2 seconds a lap. Simple.

Tires make a worlds of difference, and no suspension is going to overcome that issue, (read, RTR).

Again, my argument is, throw some hoosiers on the RTR car, and those times will tumble 4-5 seconds when the chassis is done being sorted.

I guess I'm confused about " years of suspension development". Maybe you could clarify?

you're right, it is apple and oranges. RTR had a semi, a team, a budget, and factory backing.
