Guys guys. Enough with the bashing comments. Where is the love for trying something new? This is my old b13. To be honest I approve of the swap. Hell I'm just happy the thing is still being driven around and not a cube of metal. There are things to be learned here. This is another documented case of a six speed going into a b13. Even SR guys can learn from this project.
Maybe an Sr20 variant would have been an easier swap but like it has been stated these guys got a hold of the parts for a good price. If you have the know how and parts available why not ?
NASA has a horsepower to weight ratio limit in its racing classes. I'm not sure if they monitor torque yet, but if they don't building a torque monster will definitely give you an edge. Also I can see this swap as being useful in rallycross and regular rallying.
Will there be so much negativity if 2J ever decides to throw a VQ into this car? I don't think so.
