I will own one someday but think it might be a SE 2.0 with Spev V seats etc.

I just totalled my b15se with specv seats.

how about this, i have or have had all the nissan's being quarrelled about

i had a 2001 sentra SE, purchased in DEC '00 and drove it for about 3.5yrs...installed hotshot header, hotshot CAI, SMC short shifter, ES MMI, b14 AGX's all around with eibach pro kit, advanced timing(17*), decated, car was great just slow because the engine didn't belong in there...too heavy for an SR20DE --if i kept it, it would most certainly have a VE in it and would run hard with simple bolt ons

i have a specV, it does not deserve the honor to carry the SE-R badge...i am prolly one of the very few lucky ones that have a QR that does not burn or consume oil in any way, it has some bolt ons(header, catback, intake,JWT BSR kit, ES MMI, etc etc) it is reletively quick but the best et ever has been a 14.6@92 mph with a 2.0 60' on BFG drag radials, cams to be installed soon...they are a very torquey engine but that resulted from the long stroke, if the rods were not so WHIMPY and have an open deck block and maybe a shorter stroke and larger bore to maintain the 2.5L displacement cuplered with the way the head is designed or a VE style head while canning the intake track on the specV it would PROLLY and i stress that, be a stought engine and a pretty good platform to build off...other than that, the QR SIMPLY SUCKS ASS

the VQ is awesome, gobs of power, and tons of torque...i love driving my vq35 altima, even though its an auto it still screams...i'm really considering dropping one into my specV because i dont like the QR at all, ive had 2 turbo setups and sold both of them because i just dont trust that engine

take a b15 specV(TURD) with bolt ons(i will volenteer mine-i have a set of cams to install, clutch/flywheel, and an osiris ecu) to a b15 that has been VE'd(with matching mods...i know of the perfect one-AND I KNOW I WILL GET AN ASS CRACKIN!!!!

SR over QR everyday all day

all of these dynos were done at less than 10psi.... The original motor is still in the car and has over 100,000 miles on it. 70,000 with the turbo. Bone stock block, still has the balance shafts and still on the stock clutch.

The rev-limiter is at 7,000 now, so the HP is higher....

big j, nice numbers.

u do realise the sr can do the same and more.

ive owned de's and ve's that have done 155whp-250whp all motor.

ive owned dets that have done 240whp-400whp turbo.

there are guys here who have done 500whp plus and guys who have done almost 700whp turbo. there is a 86x86 sr20 that did 1001whp.

there are guys here who have done 260-290whp all motor ve's.

so im not sure what exactly you are trying to show us.

cleary you realise your on a sr20 forum. were not saying the qr sucks, its a cool motor but its not in the same class as the sr20. thats just a fact man, no ones trying to hate or put the qr or spec v down.

trust me when i say we as nissan people yearn for a high reving, stout, reliable 4 cyclinder in a light compact chassis.

nissan didnt deliver when they did came out with the qr.

is it a good motor, with out a doubt, but agian like i said, cc for cc the qr is unable to trump or even be on par with the sr. thats just the facts my man.

stratton.

My buddies bone stock jdm de has been boosted for almost 4 years now, t25 and now a t28, 40k+ miles put on it of absolute torture. i dont know how often you romp on your car Big J but this car was absolutely tortured, romped on every chance, almost every weekend out at the local "track" whomping on hondas left and right. The only thing that took the motor out was when the vac line to the wastegate popped off because it was slightly too large of a line and boost went to who knows what on the t28 id have to guess 30+lbs, all that happened was it cracked the ring lands on two cylinders and broke the plug ground straps. Put new plugs in and still abused the hell out of that motor for another almost 15k miles at 14 lbs of boost on cracked ring lands and still whomped on the hondas and so on. It finally got to the point where the walls were soo scarred from the broken lands that it had very low compression and smoked badly. So we threw another 450 shipped jdm de in and soo far its back to happy boosting.

What would have happened if your wastegate line popped. Kaboom, there goes the rod out the block. If your motor is not built Ill say this, Your a lucky one that it has lasted this long and either its because you dont romp on it very much or its just a miracle. lol. Because ive seen QR's even well tuned most dont last to much more than about 275-300whp before putting an inspection window in the block. And thats the truth. This is years and years of seeing that happen. I know there are the occasional lucky ones that survive at 300whp but probably not as abused as we do to the SR's.
