RTR Nissan Sentra Se-R Spec V | Sport Compact Car Magazine Article at Automotive.com

RTR had an initial problem with revving engines past circa 7200 rpm (piston speeds surpassing what you would see in Cart and IRL cars of the time, and actually surpassing the current crop of F1 engine pistons speeds, if my memory serves me correctly at 7000 rpm).........My "street" DE redlines at 7500...........Ed Pink even modified the rod length, but ofcourse, the engine itself just had physical limitations

Enough said. And if anyone knows engine builders and into "real" type of racing/engine building, you will know how renown Ed Pink is.

Never personally been impressed with the QR engine (and probably never will be).

Destroked QR (SQR) assembly pics..

You do know there are 500hp QR's lurking right?

It's been done BTW...there are many VQ swapped B15's some of them boosted as well.

G20 people spend their money! That's right...

I own a boosted QR that makes in excess of 300whp, my brother owns an 01 B15 SE with bolt ons and I also drive a bolted QR powered B15 from time to time. A B15 SE will get left in the DUST, by a bolted QR car.

Compare apples to apples people, B13 + bolted QR > b13 + bolted SR or VE! Nuff said! NO need to start another SR QR war, and Stratton I expected way better of you, c'mon son, you've known us NY B15 guys for years...lol.

I dont need proof or ban, back in 03 and 04 my bolted on jdm de in a full weight b13 besides spare tire and jack was running 14.3@97mph, lol. A QR was still having difficulty running mid 15's even with basic bolt ons. Even today most people with basic bolt on Specs can barely run low to mid 15's at best. There are the good driver exceptions that can hit the high 14's but again not many. Again this is on street tires. My 14.3 was on street tires. Ive been around drag racing a long time personally walked many many specV's with a bolt on DE. A ve'd b13 will and always will tear a bolted on QR a new one all day long.

Matter fact before I even ever boosted my car, i put a jdm motor in, stock intake, stock exhaust, stock manifold, only thing done was advanced timing to 19 deg and run premium. I had two people I knew with bolted on Specs and ran both of them the same night and spanked both of them. Bone stock se-r with a jdm motor and advanced timing. Full weight, A/C and all back before I ever removed any of that stuff.

So again, i dont need proof, proof is in the numbers. Look how many basic bolt on VE's with n1 cams are well into the 13's all motor. Quite a few. How many all motor specs are there in the 13's. Probably can count them on one hand.

I would seriously take you up on that bet. Any day of the week. You take the same chassis and roughly same weight and same driver one being a bolted on QR and one being a bolted on VE and I will put money on it that the VE would win hands down time and trap speed.

Ashton you are involved in both threads, where was a drag race ever mentioned? The B13 is for track duty, road course.

I really don't see why either side should bitch, we are one community, so everyone, SR guys QR guys, everyone needs to STFU, sit back and watch.

Hmmmmm, sounds like someone is a little "hurt".........

P.S. Thanks for simply ignoring my link and the inherent "issues" the QR has B15NewYork

Again drag race or road race, doesnt matter. Power is power. Ill admit and say the QR's torque will help pull out of corners better but the sheer powerband of the VE will win all day long.

Id really like to See 2J take that challenge and do both a QR and VE powererd race car with equal suspension and chassis mods, same b15 6 speed trans and so on and put both to a test around the same road course and see which one comes out faster. If the QR wins ill have no problem admitting I was wrong. But I just dont see that happening.
