Yep, I like the build, loved the vid. Good job guys. Would be interesting to see how a VE B13 would do. Stock for stock on a road course I think the QR may have an edge. N1s and 8.5K rev limit VE with the usual boltons against the stock QR both tuned....too close to call. Would love to run against a QR B13 to find out though. Even better is to have the drivers switch rides at some point to compare the driving experience of both. Yeah, I'd be down for that. Again good job 2J. Can't win if you don't play. Looking forward to your next project & more vids. BTW you guys don't f*ck around, as advertised.

I think it's been shown that the quality of Nissan has gone down since they've shifted the majority of their products to be made in Mexico, or maybe it is just the cop out on providing quality parts who knows.

The key to a QR lasting and being reliable is running a quality 40 weight oil....... that's all it takes.

We only run Rotella T 15w-40.

Most the bugs and issues have been engineered out of the motors as of 2004.

sorry offtopic queston/thread jack but, i noticed rotella at walmart is much cheaper than mobile 1. why do you choose rotella? is it better in your expiriance or sort of the go to oil, or is just something you get the cheapest from a source? thanks, just dont want to pay 38 bucks for DIY oil changes anymore

First off you're not paying for advertising. That's a large contributing factor to the price of Mobile 1, Amsoil, Royal Purple, etc. When have you ever seen a Rotella ad?

Diesel oils have to meet a different set of testing standards, so they need a different additive package. One of the most notable is ZDDP, passenger car oils have had this component significantly reduced to below 800 ppm. Some oils, like high mileage and racing oils have more, but they still aren't diesel oils.

Diesel oils have to perform well on a hot tube burn down test where oils are poured through a very hot tube...... Something you'd want in a turbocharged application... Which most semitrucks and diesels are.

Most diesel oils are made from the same quality base oils some "synthetic" oils are..... There was a big court case that re-defined what "synthetic" means and what can be labled synthetic.

rotella is all we run in our race cars, street cars, and cars we build.

I've done the research, based on the numerous recommendations we got from racers that used it.

oh nice, further more, does rotella sell a "offical" synthetic line? you've pretty much convinced me to convert, i researched a little and dont sem to find anything bad aside from die hard brand loyalist swearing to mobile 1, royal purple, ect. i for one dont care about a brand or line unless its the most balenced economically and performence wise.

Rotella makes a 5w-40 synthetic. The synthetic is about $18-22 a gallon. if you plan on running a car hard, go with a 40 weight. They also make a 10w-30 conventional.

Ive always used Mobil 1 15w-50 Synthetic and if you saw what my crank and bearings looked like after the beating I gave my motor for a year and 12k miles, 8k rev limit, hit 11k+ a couple times during gear breakages, 450whp daily 550whp on weekends and at the strip. Every day beat on to death pounding the limiter 1st-4th. Yeah you wouldnt say Mobil 1 is crap. 12k miles and the bearings looked like the day I put them in, not a mark on the crank, still polished like the day I put it in.

I hear good things about Rotella but Im a Mobil 1 15w50 lover and always will be until it proves otherwise. But soo far I have nothing but praise for it.
