b13/b14 fuel tank comparison/issues
Hey everyone,

hopefully someone can give me some help on this. Im currently planning on doing a transplant to a DET, howver, the current engine in my 4 door is the GA16DS, (for those who may not be familiar, its the 1.6 L carbeurated).

As I see it, there are two options, (well 3 really, but the thrids a bit beyond me). These are:

1.Just aquiring the cradle for the in tank fuel pump, and setting it into my current fuel tank (at the risk of the pump overheating below 1/4 tank or cornering)

2.Changing the tank to the fuel injected tank.
Choice 2 is what brings my question, Ive heard that the b13 and b14 tanks are the same, being that in my neck of the woods the b13 FI tank is a bit of a white buffalo, it would make life easier to aquire one from the b14 if they are indeed interchangeable.

So, is anyone able to confirm/debunk this? If it has been talked about before I aplogize, but I couldnt find it with the search function through this forum or a definitve answer anywhere else.

And for the sake of it, the third option was to modify the current tank by adding a baffle.

Thanks

ever thought of using a surge tank? using the carb pump to fill a small 2 liter tank or 1 gallon tank or w.e and then using a walbro inline or bosch inline to feed the engine?

if you choose to do this its imperative to return back to the surge tank FIRST then have a return (overflow) in the surge tank back to the fuel tank

Yeah I have, just want to go the most simple route. I was holding out on the surge tank in the worst case. BTW the carb pump is actually a manual pump, and is on the engine itself, so Im pretty sure Id have to use a different method from tank to surge tank.
