92 sentra se-r japanese engine vs american engine
i would like to know the difference between an american ser engine and a japanese ser engine. how can i tell them apart once already installed in a sentra ser? are there any major differences on the outside of the engine itself that will tell them apart or will a test drive be better to find the difference? if so, what would i looking for? thanks for any feedback.

Japanese will not have the EGR equipment on the intake manifold, also it might actually have higher compression if the valve cover is red.

Thank you for the response. The valve cover is indeed red. What other good things could i expect from the japanese engine?

Maybe the Japanese engine has a search solenoid that can be plugged into your pc or tablet.
