Parking brake issue
The last few days my "BRAKE" light has been coming on and off randomly with no rhyme or reason. Checked the fluid its fine I know the brake itself isn't on. I pulled the center console and the switch under the e-brake handle has shattered and now allows contact to remain when it looks like when the brake is down it breaks the connection. So i swapped a good one from my brother-in-law's xe just to make sure that was the problem but the light still won't go off. Its not a big problem but the light makes me angry. Any advice, I don't know what else to check. Thanks

does it come on with the engine check light also? If the Brake and engine check light comes on together it mean your alt. going bad. But if your engine check light doesnt come on then idk.

Brake light is the only one that comes on. I'm going to try putting a little fluid in it this weekend since it is slightly below the max line and see if that helps.

I got the same issue, don't know why, but adjusted the brake and that fixed the problem.

me too... but only for a lapse of time and in the morning.

I just upgrade to ad22vf and when i accelerate its when the "brake" light comes on, i give a touch to the brake pedal and the light it turns off, but again comes on when i step on gas.

I'll try to put a bit of liquid these days and see if it works.

cheers,

Just topped of the brake fluid and the light goes off now so all is good. The switch under the e-brake was shattered though so I had to rig it with zip ties till I can get another one, but point being it works as it should now so just top off your fluid before you try anything else. Thanks.

sometimes the little floaty thing gets stuck in the resivor an will cause that light to come on..

other times the ebrake just needs adjusted or the switch is malfunctioning or needs "adjusted" lol
