Benifits in upgrading Fuel Pump?
I searched and couldn't find anything. Sorry if this is a total noob question.

I have a 1992 SER. I'm just looking for any modifications I can perform to the car to make it more stable.

Cooling system is almost completely upgraded, Suspension coming next.

Exhaust is upgraded as well.

I see a lot of people switching over to the Walbro 255fp. I'm just curious as to why people do this.

depends on the power level your going after, 200whp is fine on the stock pump.

people upgrade to walbro255s because it will support power up to 500whp.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you Stratton.

Is there any general consensus on modifying the b13 ser?
I've done a full exhaust system, replaced all the hoses in the cooling system, upgraded the radiator, new belts. All new brakes, new head gasket.

I'm going to be upgrading to KYB AGX shocks, Hyperco Gen ii springs, Koni bumpstops.

Really just looking to keep modding my car and having fun with it. This is my first car and hence my first project. I'm really enjoying how easy this car is to work on and how much I learn while working on it.

Thanks a lot!

theres no consensus as far as what brands to use, weither to go all motor or go turbo or nitrious.

there is a consensus here pertaining to using quality parts, modding things the right way and fixing things the right way. as a whole our community frowns about faulty craftmanship, rigging things up and generally hacking up a car.

if i was to give you any advice it would be this; continue to do exactly what your doing. your on the right track with the parts youve chosen so far.

throw me a pm if you ever have an questions regarding our cars.

I'd suggest that you look at upgrading your front brakes to NX2000 calipers and rotors with performance pads if you are considering driving the car on a rad course. Beyond that, it sounds like you should be looking at a header, intake, and maybe think about getting upgraded cams. There is also performance to be gained through getting a programmable ECU and either learning how to tune your engine or having it tuned. Keep an eye on your motor mounts -- they often need to be replaced or upgraded to reduce drivetrain movement under power. Look into the Energy Suspension shifter bushing. It could be the nest $6 you ever spend.

It all depends on your "vision" for the car which involves finding out how your desire to meet performance objectives balances with the noise, vibration and drivability issues that come with the upgrades.

All the information you need is available on the forums if you search for it. Experienced SR20 owners are happy to answer your specific questions.

Enjoy the Ride.
