Thread: Are 6.5's possible in front?

I just verified, the speaker is a 6.5 hole but has a 4x6 adapter is bolted in place from the factory.

the only issue with the front door speakers is mounting dept. as mentioned the infinity's clear and so do the slim focals. I have diamond audio hex600s in mine and they fit as well. You can stick up to a 6 3/4 speaker in the front door as long as the mounting depth good. You will need to trim the door at little to get them to fit.

I just realized, I can take one of my 6.5's from the back and test fit it in the front instead of being an idiot. LOL. I'm going to do that when I get healed up from surgery.

Or you could run your Kappa's up front and find some mids for rear fill. Personally, I don't like running only fronts without rear fill. The concert hall analogy is a good (and popular) one, but flawed imo - it doesn't take into account room/object reflections typical in those locations. Cars have very different acoustics. Basically I'm saying there's a big difference between setting up a home theater stereo pair in a typical room and setting up car stereo speakers located in doors. You could always start off using only front speakers (and sub) and see if you like it. If not, consider adding the rear fill.

I'm not saying running only front speakers is wrong, simply it's down to personal preference and using a flawed analogy doesn't make it any more "correct."

I definitely feel like I agree. I'm just running the rear deck and the subs at this point..

I want to order my front speakers, but really need to figure out if 6.5's will fit in the front. Looks like 5 1/4th to me. in my 1992 b13 ser. I'm not seeing any adapter plates.
