Thread: Are 6.5's possible in front?

He thought you were going to amplify the speakers using the HU and then another amp which I wouldn't recommend.

I honestly am not sure where I want to go.

Ideally (4) 6.5 infinity kappa perfects.
And 1 10inch Inifinity Kappy perfect sub in unported box.

Lot's of Dynamat.

Alpine cda 117 head unit.

I have 2 concerns, I don't know how to amp this setup.
Also I've heard Alpine headunits don't have a lot of headroom and clarity at higher volumes. I've heard they distort quickly and easily.

Could you guys reccomend a good amp setup and a good headunit.

The point I made about bi-amping was actually not about running 2 amps (which I'm all FOR), it was about running the internal speakers off both the internal amp in the head unit AS WELL AS an external, which is bad. Pick one or the other.

You could always buy a sub-woofer that is powered already so you can save space on the amps, OR you could look into some 5-channel amps which are designed for 4 speakers like your interior speakers, as well as a D Class subwoofer amp, all in one package. That is what I have run in my cars for almost 8yrs and I've never had issues. Good luck.

6.5's will fit in the front doors, but you will either need slim fit speakers or an adapter plate built to mount them on the "face" of the door so that they will clear the window. 1 good set of front speakers and a sub will give you the best sound. 4 speakers and a sub will give you the most volume of sound, but it won't be natural. When you go to a concert do you face the stage and the wall of speakers or turn your back to them? Why would you want speakers behind you? Something to think about.

^^Do you have a pic of a speaker mounted like that? I'm about to replace my speakers as well, and wanted to go with 6.5's.

Also, has anyone mounted something as large as 10" subs to the rear deck? I thought of that to try to keep my trunk space.

Well I got the Infinity Kappa P. 6.5's in the rear deck of my b13 ser. I've got 2 10inch rockford fosgate punches in the truck in a sealed box. 800 watt kenwood power amp.

Alpine cda 105 head unit, Ktp445 power amp for the headunit and the rear deck.

I'm about to pull the pin on a set of speakers for up front.

Should I just go with 6.5 or stick with the 5 1/4th for the sake of easy installation.

Infinity kappa's come in both 6.5's and 5 1/4ths. So I will definitely be going with those.

Go 6.5 btw I think stock size is 4x6 not 5 1/4

I read 4x6 online, and then the FSM said 5 1/4th. So I measured. My 1992 SER is definitely 5 1/4th.

How would I got about fitting these 6.5's in the front?
