Thread: my sunroof is leaking need advice

Lately its been raining here in miami and everytime I got in my car I noticed the passenger seat was wet so it was obvious I had a leakso I went to a nearby gas station went threw the carwash and its my sunroof it leaks real bad threw a car wash here in florida we can get some bad weather in the summer what can I do or buy to get this fixed btw I like my sunroof and it works and use it alot . Thanks any help is appreciated

Even if it leaks, the drain tubes should take care of it, I bet they are plugged. Try to blow some air through them, there are 4, one at each corner.

^^^ agreed with will check the drains first.You can pour water through them to check them after you blow them out.
I had a NX once that had a drain tube off from the factory from the way it looked when I checked it out.

Sunroof is a bitch.

Remove the Oshit handles, rear view mirror, sun visors, interior light, sunroof controls and carefully remove the rear plastic keepers. Don't use a screw driver, take your time with a real keeper remover (it looks like a pry bar with a v-notch cut out of the middle of the blade). Remove the A and B/C pillar covers and then carefully take out the roof liner. You will see the 4 hoses in the corners. Don't straight blow into them with your mouth, if they're clogged, then you probably will get a little water washing back into your mouth. Use an extension hose instead.

Also, make sure you check the track. If there is anything inside the track, the water can spill over the tray and into the passenger compartment. B13 sunroofs suck, and were designed by a bunch of crack monkeys, this happened to me.

Also, can you see between the rubber seal and the edge of the roof hole? If you can, then maybe you need to get another glass replacement. Changing the rubber seal doesn't always do it well if the glass is rusted badly.

so i cleared all the drain tubes and sun roof still leaks were can i get the new stripping?

probably will have to replace the whole sunroof glass, they are molded together.
