Ignition Switch Cuts Out
Every once in a while I will try and strart my b13 w/ sr and it does nothing. The ignition switch won't send signal to the starter to crank. I can hard wire the starter or push start it and it will fire right up. Everything works perfect otherwise. I have tried different switches and still it only fires when it wants to.

Same thing with mine. I'm planning on disassembling the switch and seeing if I can repair it or upgrade it. Otherwise I guess I'll replace it with a new one. You've tried different ones? Damn. =(
Check to see if everything is aligned properly and makes real good contact.

I've checked so many times and adjusted it. I know it has to do with the switch because I have hardwired the starter, turned the key to on and it starts every time in the past.

Could it be grounding out somewhere?

Just spit balling but you make sure when you press down the clutch when you start up that its triggering the inhibitor switch. Mine does nothing sometimes but I just have to press the pedal harder then it starts. Just wondering.

I know for me I first suspected the clutch switch. After by-passing it, the problem persisted. That's a great first thing to check though.

My B13 also experience the same problem, sometime this make me had to "pray" first before starting the car...
Don't forget to take some pictures when you decide to disassembling the switch....

My ignition switch went completely dead. No power in the "on" position at all, and of course, no starter signal. Had to replace not only the electrical part of the switch, but the tumbler assembly as well. Cost me $240 installed at a local shop for an original Nissan assembly. That was for the entire ignition assembly from Nissan with 2 new keys, and labor.

So this is a common problem then with b13... I've owned mine now for seven weeks. What is the solution
