Thread: why so hard??

hey guys, Im going to install the ES sway bar bushing and the endlinks at the front.

I remember it was quite a bitch to re-installed the bolts on the way bar bushing bracket. It just refused to go back in. Seems like not line up after you unbolt it.

I had to strip it the first time and retap it. How do you guys get them back in, is it the endlinks that needs to be install first to push the sway bar up?

You need to install the chassis brackets first with the bar in them, then install the end links. Make sure both sides of the suspension are at the same height, and preferably at ride height to make things much easier.

Were you stripping things when trying to do the chassis side brackets? That shouldn't happen at all when doing them first.

thanks Ben. I agreed with the ride height, but it needs to be on a lift. Floor jack will just pull the wheels down makes it heavier to reinstalled it.

You could use ramps to do it. Or jack it up and put it on jack stands and then use two jacks under the outer ball joint (or under the tire, or remove the tire) on each side to get the suspension to ride height. Many ways to skin this cat. A lift might not be the best bet unless it lifts by the tires.

I recently did the front and rear on my car, and I am curious is the rear were not torqued equally, would that cause the rear suspension to make a CLICK noise when turning up a hill, for example? Also, would it make the rear kick out slightly when turning at times?

This is exactly what I did when I had to do it not even a week ago. Don't install the ends first or else they will NOT bolt up on the chassis brackets unless your lucky. Then once they are both installed jack it up from under the ball joint and then install the ends, easy as it gets
