im talking only from experience. i dont do much of it any more, but i use to very heavy into the street race scene, every weekend like clock work for years.

when cars are close it always comes down to the driver.

but if i had to bet id bet on the gsr hatch taking the de.

but since were talking about a gsr integra should be a very close match. id still have to put my money on the teggy though.

stratton.

Your right Strat, alot has changed in the past 5 years. All I remember is back in 02 the honda boys were all over my car wondering what I had. They thought I had to have nitrous or turbo to go 14.3 @97mph which for all motor was pretty fast back then. Now 14.3 is nothing really all motor. Considered fast now all motor is 12s. 12s will beat most hondas out there with the exeption of some big built k series and big built b or h series in CRXs and ef hatches.

The track i used to always go to in Texas was a pretty popular place. It was nearby to Austin, Waco, Killeen, and soo on. Back then there would usually be a good 120 racers every Friday or Saturday night. The good old times.

If the Honda car has cams and supporting bolt-ons hell get you in 4th gear for sure. This is assuming you get the SE-R going properly and you get a good jump on the race. Its embarassing to pop out of or lose 3rd gear so with the SE-R transmission theres always that.

Thats where I got pulled the last thing close I raced; a 99/00 Si probably ten years ago. He had bolt ons and I'm pretty sure at least some street cams or he was tuned because usually an Si wants to race especially back then and it was pretty fast. I had just pop 91 intake cam ur pulleys hs header greddy exhaust in my 96 SE-R. GSRs are probably a little faster than that with just bolt-ons and no cams. those cars do need a tune to really accept bolt ons though so just cause its loud...

My crappy slow 04 Si could walk an SE-R with intake and exhaust but that gearbox has very good ratios. The Hondas are always going to have better gearing imo especially the B series. K series transmissions arent nearly as strong but the engines just put out 240-250whp way easier than an SE-R could with a nicely put together VE. But the SE-R will have a big weight advantage unless the Honda is in an EG or EK or even EM.

I enjoyed my 92 hatch w/ b16a when i had it.. But my b13'd VE is much more fun.. All i gotta do now is beef up my suspension because my hatch Handled better, and order my JWT ECU! I bet this will make much more of a difference!

One huge reason why i like my b13 more than my hatch is because EVERYONE and there MOMA drives a Hatch or a Honda here in HOUSTON. And when you see this

Pass you By, your Definitely gonna look back x2 because it's going to remind you of the Car Daddy or Grandpa Used to Drive!

My buddy had a b16a in a gutted out crx with spoon everything on it. Full bolt ons including cams and a chipped and tuned ecu. I was not all that impressed. It was fairly quick, maybe a high 13 on street tires. My stock cam sr20ve with just intake, header, exhaust, pullies, flywheel demolished it. A ve makes pretty much every b16, b18 honda look slow. There are the few exceptions but not many.

well, when you compare a 1.6L to a 2.0L, There will be a difference...

now if you compared a b20z mated to a vtech B series head, then not so much!

Ive seen those as well and both had aftermaket cams. They still cant compare to a ve. B20vtec is not all that quick either. Again to those that actually take to the time to build it and put high comp pistons in, a good set of cams and actually have it tuned then they can be quick especially in a crx. That b16 was in a crx that weighed in at about 1700 lbs. My car weighed 2100 lbs. So it had a big weight advantage but again it was not all that impressive. He thought he was gonna be close to me and boy was he in for a shock. lol
