Is the ride comfort more or less than stock? How does it feel on long trips?

Thanks for the information.

The width is 7.5 though...

I'm liking these a lot. What do you think.

15x7.5 30mm, 4x100

They meet all the specs.

It`s definatly harsher than stock...longest trip so far was like an hour and not me my GF or the 8 year old in the back complained...do gotta watch for big potholes but thats mostly my short side walls...and the stiffer supension does cause rattles...but when i just drive it and don`t flog it it`s actually pretty damn nice...not as nice as stock but if you wanna carve the corners gotta give up some softness...if you were closer i`d offer a ride....haha

Those would fit perfectly. Just about the perfect wheel size and fitment right there. You can be confident that you won't run into any problems running those. They will sit pretty much flush with the bodywork and give you plenty of width for wide tires. Go with a 205 wide tire at least.

Now you just have to worry about the hub bore being the right size, or getting hub ring adapters, or going commando.

The problem with using GR2's is that they will prematurely wear out. They are not designed for use with a relatively high spring rate as presented by the Hypercos or Road Magnets.

When will the GR2's wear out? Who knows? Depends on mileage, road surfaces, driving habits. However, they will wear out sooner than with stock springs and spring rates.

While they are still working, I'm sure everything is fine.

As Ben stated the AGX's are the least expensive strut that is capable of handling the spring rate of Hypercos or Road Magnets. The AGX strut was considered during the actual design process of the Hypercoil springs, they are engineered to work together quite well.

As Bill stated the CSK would be a better strut. Which is both more expensive and more difficult than a straight bolt-on solution ala AGX.

Might be why I own AGX's but have been buying a few Koni inserts.

So glad to hear that! I'm so sorry, I know this is annoying. But I'm a noob at some car info. Wheels and tires for example.

Followed everything up until here "Now you just have to worry about the hub bore being the right size, or getting hub ring adapters, or going commando. [/QUOTE]".

There is some SER's with Konig Candys on them, so they fit.. I think.

Now what I'm wondering, is harsher more comfortable? Is the still feeling desirable?

Honestly if my car is going to ride like shit, I'll stay stock. I do want it to be comfortable for sure. I don't race or Auto X. In fact this is my first car, and I'm in love with it, but want to see my options and how to improve the feeling of daily driving and just fun in general.

Thanks for offering a ride, very kind!

This is the age old question that has been batted around since the first mods were done to cars. There is no free lunch when it comes to performance -- every improvement generally has a cost in noise, vibration or harshness. Not to mention dollars.

If you are really interested in maintaining near-OEM comfort, then I would suggest that you start by replacing your shifter bushing and sway bar bushings with the Energy Suspension units. Then get a good set of dampers -- I would recommend Koni inserts set no more that 20% off dead soft -- and run them with your OEM springs. After you install your new struts, get a good performance-oriented alignment (zero toe front and rear with something like 1* negative camber front and rear (search for details on how to do this)). This is a pretty good balanced set up that when matched with capable tires is way better than stock. And still real quiet and comfortable.

Then if you think you want more performance and can handle a bit more harshness, add in a set of sway bars. I've had good luck with the front and rear White Line sway bars, though you rarely see them referenced on this Forum. Based on your concern about comfort and noise, only after determining that this set up is not enough for you would I go to considering upgraded springs.

Again, taking some rides in cars with modified suspensions is a great investment in your time.

Good luck -- you have many decisions to make.

Bill
