use contact cleaner to clean the contacts on the bulb and socket. I would also hit the harness connector going to the lights. Had the same issue and that fixed mine.

Unfortunately the contact cleaner, didn't work for me.
Sometimes you really need to hit the contacts with some sand paper or something to clean them up good if they are corroded. If they are not corroded, you need to trace the problem from the socket back to the source. Multimeter + FSM = your friend.

^^^^ this. also make sure the contacts in the socket are not melted. I had to replace one of my sockets due to this happening. As ben stated you may need to file or sand the contacts. I used deoxit which takes everything off with a cue tip.

you will want to check point to point resistance. If the harness is good it will have low resistance.

that would not cause one side to be brighter than the other.
