I would use starting fluid, and that only works for manifold leaks. A hose leak is going to require hunting around and visually finding the hose that either wasn't plugged back into the nipple or finding the hose clamp that wasn't put back on. Finding cracked hoses will make you want to punch babies.
If you replaced the IACV, did you change the gasket as well? Did you also remove all the old gasket material before putting the new one on? The old gasket likes to stick to the manifold, and can be a pain in the ass to remove, but you have to to get the proper seal.
Actually, carb clean is one of the top things used to find vacuum leaks.
Brake clean depends on whether it's chlorinated or not...you want non-chlorinated as it's the flammable type. Nothing wrong with using either.
