Thanks for the information!!

Isfahan@ I've definitely been doing my research but I haven't really seen many threads with people oppinions of their systems. I want to find something that will definitely sound great. I may turbo in the future, I may upgrade cams. Not really sure.

Nice Avatar btw, robot chicken lol

@ Lynch420- thanks man, I will definitely look more into that company. Appreciate it!!

Sucks that you got ripped off but that exhaust was a pos when it was nib anyway.

I hated my megan exhaust. It fit wrong and necked down at a few points so its not really true mandrel bent imo. Its ok for what it is but there are better options for sure.

I usually run 2.5" exhaust on any SE-R but 2.25 will be fine and quieter. Probably a few bucks cheaper too but if you ever want to do cams/VE/Turbo nitrous you will wish you had the 2.5" system and its not really that much louder.

As far as the header just jump on eBay and buy a $40-140 header and call it good.

I totally feel you man. I'll definitely be going 2.5inch..

So is it a general concensus that mandrel bent tubing kit is the way to go??

I could just keep the pacesetter header... and try to get some cash off the rest..

I've also got a VRS dealer saying I can get a 2.5inch bolt on, all stainless steel VRS, with a muffler, resonator, and cat of my choice for 425$$

What do you think?

I think lynch got his 3" catback for like $300 to his door and it looks perfect to me. Thats w/o cat though so 425 isnt too bad.

That VRS kit is the one I got. The sound of the exhaust was nice and deep, never raspy or blatty. However it did drone and people could hear me coming. I also got my fair share of police attention for it, although I never got a ticket. I took the 4" round magnaflow muffler off and put an STi muffler on and now everything is peachy. Be warned, that SS exhaust is HEAVY and my stock rubber mounts were not up to the task. I switched to the NISMO ones, which added some vibration to the cockpit, but now I never even notice it.

Here's the link to the quiet muffler thread:

And my contribution to it with the STi muffler:
