Problem with E-Brake light and possible mechanical failure?
I have a '94 LE with a stock GA16DE. For a while I was running with a bad alternator, which the voltage regulator dipped to voltage to ~11v. The car ran, but the e-brake light was on, from what I thought to be electrical malfunction from the low voltage.
When the alternator finally died on me, my battery light came on too (obviously, battery was dying since there was no juice from the alternator). I got a new alternator, fired it up, and ran great. E-Brake light and battery light turned off. Car ran great.
For a few weeks... then all of a sudden my E-Brake light came on again. The alternator's working fine... checked voltages multiple times and it's doing it's job perfectly. What else could cause the light to come on?
The other day at work my car decided to just stall on me at a red light. It didn't stall necessarily... just, turned off. The check engine light came on and the car died, right there. Pushed it into the parking lot next to me, parked it, then turned the key just to try... and it started right up! Anybody have any idea what could've caused that?
