Thread: wiring help

i recently replaced my head gasket and am almost done with the reassembly but i have an extra wire coming out of my alternator harnness and i dont know where it goes i have the three wire conecter pluged in, the wire that gets bolted on to the alternator under the red cap on and the ground wire that is on the back side attacehed ....... any ideas?

do you have a/c? IIRC there is a wire that comes off of the alternator alternator harness and goes to the a/c compressor just below the alternator, probably for the activation of the clutch in the compressor. If you don't have a/c, you dont need it.
