Thread: Fuel pressure at 62 PSI

Oy, fuel pressure is 62 psi at idle, WTF

I put the gauge inline between fuel filter and rail on the feed line...

I got some fuel line hose from Advance just now. I unhooked the return line and attached the hose I just bought to the return spot on the rail, emptied it out into a 1 gallon gas can I had, and OALA! fuel pressure returned to normal levels.

I have a partially blocked return fuel line.

so you had a free FPR and you threw it away

you should clean your injectors, looks like your fuel filter is not doing its job

WTF is this "free FPR" stuff you're talking about? And the injectors are clean, seafoam worked miracles on them weeks ago!

The return line was actually pinched right before the tank on the rubber hose... Don't know how it happened, but I replaced it and now the car acts like it's starved of gas when I punch it under load in any gear other then 1st. BUUUT, the pressure checks out okay now, around 36 when idling, jumps up to around 40-ish when revving and 45 when vacuum line is off the FPR.

Maybe the feed line is pinched, too? I'll post after another warm day.

Did you remember to get fuel injection hose? It's about $6.xx something a foot opposed to $1.xx. The standard fuel hose we carry is meant for non fuel injected applications or for low pressure lines- the burst rating is very low. The good stuff is reinforced with Teflon and has max operating pressure of 220psi and a supposed burst psi of 900 or so.

Now when I try to give it gas when the tank is below 1/4 full it bogs and won't accelerate. Damn it, I gotta check the pump again.

you using stock SE-R pump?
When I had the stock pump, car felt like crap with less than 1/4 tank...
I thought it was "OK"

Symptom was caused by the return hose falling off the nipple inside the tank. The return hose takes the fuel right back to under the pump toward the strainer sock. I re-connected it and no more accel stop.

But the bogging continues... I can feel the car accel then pull back three times before I get to around 3K RPMS. The idle seems to regularly rise and fall to a pattern similar to that as well...

any updates on this

Gonna attempt the mythical MAF re-grounding tomorrow, will take pics since NO ONE (ahem) has shown exactly where this thing grounds to, yet afaik...
