Gonna Bang My hEad Against a Wall...***UPDATE AS OF 12 FEB 2011"
My damn B13 is going to drive me to drinkin'...

My Symptom: Start the vehicle, idles ok but when I throttle it up it bogs down and stalls or if I let it idle on it's own after about 4 mins it will stall.

Lookin for some feedack from you guys. My car has been off the road for some 4 months because of an idle/run problem.

After much research throughout this forum and conversing with many of you I eventually took the interior apart and ran my trouble codes off the check engine light and got a 34 (bad knock sensor) also knowing that a bad knock sensor throws the timing off and the one for a bad O2 sensor (forget the number right now). So, after I replaced those two I retested and got a 55 for normal operation.

I took the throttle body apart and cleaned it thoroughly, took the IACV off and cleaned it and did a continuity and resistance check to make sure it was working properly. I have a new TPS as well as a new MAF. New plugs gapped at .39, new PCV valve.

When I get off work today, I am going to replace my water pump belt and then start this thing up. Aside from the fact that I have to re-time the vehicle because I removed the distributor to replace the o-ring, if this thing still runs like shit I am gonna be pretty pissed. Does anyone have a link for TPS adjustment? I removed and cleaned each injector and have good fuel pressure. I got spark and good air....I am not sure where I am going to go from there.....suggestions?

reground the maf sensor and set the tps to .48 volts at idle. To set the tps use a multimeter and some paper clips to poke through the connector on the tps sensor. I believe you use the 2nd and third holes to read the voltage. I always use nissan data scan to set the voltage.

MAF is regrounded and I will set the TPS at that voltage, thanks for your input.

It sounds like you've done just about everything you should have. Once you get to the point where everything should work, but it doesn't, it's time to consider swapping in a good ECU and see if that solves the problem.

You may also need to clear out all of the stored memory on the ecu from the 02 sensor being bad. Long term maps will have been changed by the knock sensor code and the 02 sensor code. I usually use a nissan data scan to reset the ecu and force learn mode. This can also be accomplished by unplugging the battery and pushing the brake pedal for about 30sec.

The only reason I had not considered and ECU is because I don't have a steady red light on...but, it may be something I need to consider. Thanks.

Had no idea about that....will give it a try, thanks.

OK, so after I finished banging my head against the wall, my car still don't run right. It is running way to rich. For one reason or another, when I test my TPS through the back of the connector I get 5.0 volts at closed throttle and when I open the throttle the voltage drops, it's supposed to do the exact opposite. I have no idea where to go from here.
