My buddy just picked up one of the first gen imprezas. Awd and junk. It will be just a matter of time before we line up, so im just wondering if anyone has had any "run-ins" with one.

I agree. Especially if yours is tuned and is running right, it won't even be a contest. NEW 2.5RS's that make 177HP at the crank only make about 117 AWHP. So a 2000 is going to make around that number at best, especially since they are rated at less power I think.

He might take you from the jump because of his ability to launch, but that lead won't last long. I'd give him no more than your 1st two gears before you reel him in.

race should be a joke. n/a subarus cant even launch because they are so weak. or to be super safe, you can just get a t28 and laugh at stage 2 STi's all day

a 2000 2.5rs is turbo not n/a 165hp, 166tq. regardless you should be able to beat him. On a closed course of course because we don't condone street racing

if youre at like 10psi, from a roll, considering he doesnt have many mods, should be your race.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem. STi's had a hard time trying to outrun my old VE motor.

Are you out of you mind? A 2.5RS is not turbo in any year unless they are swapped. Hence the popularity of the RSti swaps.

first gen impreza's weigh about 2700-2800lbs imo is the best platform to swap a 2.0/2.5 turbo into and they are geared just right compared to the "over weight jenny craig" lastest platforms .If he's N/A he'll still get you off the line but then its game over for him when you start to grab traction in 2nd gear. But if he's boosted you better be running that t25 at its limits
