2002-2004 I35 (fear of oil consumption issue)
2000-2001 Maxima (hard to find w/low miles)
P11 5 speed (hard to find w/low miles/unmolested)
2004-2006 SPEC-V (see I35 oil consumption fear)
2002-2006 CR-V (Wife's choice. Fear of common "black death" A/C failure)

My previous car was an I35. Try doing a U-Turn in that car, without stopping traffic. Can never do a complete u-turn without backing up as you would skim your wheels on the curb or just completely run the curb. N

Definitely agree with the 00'-01' Max. I had a 02' Max 6 spd though, and absolutely hated it, not sure how the I35 compares. If you go the compact suv route, look at the Rav4 with the V6 if the budget permits, they tend to hold their value very well. We had two, an 09' and a 10', both V6 Sports with no rear spare tire. Absolutely incredible vehicles that did everything well. Just still have that "Rav4 stigma" I guess though.

I suggested the RAV4 to the wife. She said no because, ready for this? She doesn't like the name. I told her I could de-badge it and she could call it any damned thing she liked.

After reading up in the VQ35 I'm not taking a chance on anything with that engine in it. Maybe a Q45? Frickin' V8 power!

Haha! See, "Rav4 stigma". Pluses were a 0-60 time around 6.3, 25-28 mpg real world(the lowest I ever got was around 24.0),lockable 4wd(got me to the firehouse with around 16" of snow on the ground). Well I'm starting to sound like a Toyota salesman, go for the Q! I had a 99' SHO, and it's just something about a Japanese V8!!
