This tells me you need VVL.
ps; If you do it again a big flathead screwdriver can help pry the filter loose hands-free

Changed my oil.
And yes, before you ask, I had a mechanically-inclined friend directing my wrenching. And now I can change my oil myself. Will wonders never cease.
And....WTF ever on where Nissan put the damn oil-filter. Which tiny-little-micro-handed engineer thought that was a good idea? I got a pair of baseball-mitts, size XL in Mechanix brand gloves. Fuck where they put that filter.

Yes, it amuses me as well. I can talk SE-R all day long. First oil change with my hands in 20-years.
Now I finally have time, tools, and a big-ass workshed (now with actual workspace!) with a fan and a concrete slab.
I also have no time-frame on my work. I can have my SE-R up on stands, in my shed, until I am done. Even if I have to get my buddy Leeroy (serious country-mechanic) over here, make a thread with pictures on the forum, and/or order parts. No problems.
For some reason I have always been intimidated by wrenching on my car. No training, no near-by friends who wrenched, Dad never (ever) wrenched.
Weird because I like working with my hands, and work with wood all the time.
Hell yes, I need a VE. It's next up. Time-frame - when I have the finances.
