Took the track car out for its first ever track day this past weekend. It def put a huge grin on my face. Not bad for a car that sat for years, has some crash history, and is going through 5th gear pop out.

Swapped out a dead Spal fan for a replacement Spal fan. Now I can enjoy my AC again in stop-n-go traffic. Can't complain on the Spal fan, it lasted almost 7-years.

Changed my oil.

And yes, before you ask, I had a mechanically-inclined friend directing my wrenching. And now I can change my oil myself. Will wonders never cease.

And....WTF ever on where Nissan put the damn oil-filter. Which tiny-little-micro-handed engineer thought that was a good idea? I got a pair of baseball-mitts, size XL in Mechanix brand gloves. Fuck where they put that filter.

Sprung the SE-R from the garage for the first time in almost two weeks for a 90+ mph blast to work this morning in the cool, dry air. That's better than any cup of Starbucks.

For me it's not so much the location as that wedge of metal they put underneath it to catch the drippings. Can't wrap my hand around the filter because of that damned thing, but I learned to put it on just "so" tight that it doesn't leak and it's fairly easy coming off.

Dodge had it right with their 2.2 liter, nothing on the front of the block except for the dizzy and oil filter. Open hood, look down, grab filter, unscrew. But I digress...
