The passenger side door does this in my XE so I disconnected the thing and everything's fine. Automatic seat belts work and everything.

Well I looked for about 30 seconds for a way to pull apart the interior and decided it was too much work, so I just used duct-tape to tape down the sensor and it works. Many problems with older cars seem to have multiple solutions. In this case, #1 was to put tape over the open door light on the dash board, #2 was to pull the gauge cluster (again) and pull the bulb, #3 was to just disconnect the sensor, and #4 was what I did (taping the actual sensor down).
Kinda what I like about older cars, more fixes for the problems that come up.
