The passenger side door does this in my XE so I disconnected the thing and everything's fine. Automatic seat belts work and everything.

Well I looked for about 30 seconds for a way to pull apart the interior and decided it was too much work, so I just used duct-tape to tape down the sensor and it works. Many problems with older cars seem to have multiple solutions. In this case, #1 was to put tape over the open door light on the dash board, #2 was to pull the gauge cluster (again) and pull the bulb, #3 was to just disconnect the sensor, and #4 was what I did (taping the actual sensor down).

Kinda what I like about older cars, more fixes for the problems that come up.

WOAH! pull apart the interior!?
That sensor has one screw holding it in place, and its right next to the "button" you actually push in, then you pull it out and disconnect it.

Thats what im about to do asap ! Its visable threw the other side inside on the rear strut tower/wheel well . How could this happen damn it ! I rarely drive her in the rain aswell . This car has never seen snow except the one time i drove it over to my mother inlaw to put it in the garage . It was only a inch of snow and some a--hole in a subaru wagon came flying out of paralell spot and i swerved to avoid him and slid into the curb (@ 5mph) and "DING" gave my nice uber expensive volk ce28n a nice curb rash on the lip ! Wtf . F--king subie owners lol. Needless to say i cought up to him at the stop sign and he had the balls to say he wasnt at fault .. i gave him 2 options A. Give me your insurance info or B. I drag you out of the car .

Cleaned all the accumulated crap out of the door pockets, then took the family out in the SE-R to the Italian club for supper. Another 50 miles on the clock.
