I was working on my gauge cluster lights today. Does anyone know of a way to trick one of the door sensors that the door is in fact, closed? I'm getting the open door warning light on the dashboard, from the passenger side door, even when it's fully closed. I know so because I manually pushed the little rubber button closed and the dash light went off, as well as the dome light when it was set to the "door open" position. I'm thinking there must be an electrical connection to disconnect, or possible the little "button" can be taped shut.

My dome light was flashing on when I would take a turn in a "spirited" fashion. As a quick fix, I removed the button and placed a washer under it so the door would depress it more fully when it was closed. I think I had to grind one of the edges of the washer down to make it fit.

You can also disconnect the sensor completely. It doesn't really affect anything. Just make sure that door is in fact always fully shut.

The passenger side door does this in my XE so I disconnected the thing and everything's fine. Automatic seat belts work and everything.

Okay cool. I'll go outside and check out the sensor and see about disconnecting it.
