Took the LE-R on a 750 mile cruise over the weekend to US129 via Blood Mountain near Dahlonega to the Tail of the Dragon and the full loop of the Cherohala Skyway. Went with a bunch FRS-BRZ guys and a few M4s, Mustang, Corvette C6, and 350Z. Was actually surprised I kept up with everyone in the twisties. Blood Mountain almost claimed my car on the long downhill section southbound on 129. Came into a long left hand downhill sweeper around 65mph and then the turn wound up being a decreasing radius. I was already coasting on entry and as the decreasing radius approached the back end slid out. Car went full 90* to the left while I tried to power out of the slide in 3rd gear. The little GA tried in vain and I almost saved it like a pro but I had too much opposite lock dialed in when the rear finally hooked. The car went full 90* to the right and I started to fight the tank slapping motion but the GA started to bog down at this point and by this point I had already crossed the double yellow. Luckily there was no one coming up at that spot and it was a double lane going up hill. I took all three lanes to gather it up and then proceeded to lock up all four for a few seconds to finally stop the tank slapping slide before getting to close the rock wall as I approached the right hander. One of the BRZ guys got it on video so I am trying to see if he will post of the video.
Needless to say I was the talk of the day and most of the people could not believe that it was not a SE-R.
