Not sure why Kyle said they slip. Silicone hoses leak. They actively leak because they are hard to get tight, and they also aren't water-vapor-proof so water will slowly evaporate out through the silicone.
They don't belong anywhere you'd like water to flow.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered some OEM replacements.
I'll re-use the stock wire-style hose clamps.

Since no one has batted an eye about the spacer, I'll grab an xcessive one from Greg, since Outlaw Engineering seems to be out of business.

Copy and pasted from my afr offset issue thread. Errr thing is resolved!!!

Finally resolved my issue! Re grounded wideband and re connected to the adc box making sure both connections were solid and no excess wire showing from the adc box! I also pulled my plugs and noticed one was looking lean, so I decided to check to see if maybe that injector was on its way out! All injectors read a perfect 14 ohms so next step was to check my connections. Using a noid light on the injector plug for the lean cylinder I was having an issue with the conversion harness for my current injectors, Pulled the harness off checked the oem injector plug with the noid, working perfect. So now I know there is an issue with the conversion harness for my plugs. Found the connection of the pins in the plug were extremely loose so I took them all apart and seated the pins into the plugs properly and reinstalled. Started the car afr was .2 off from what my ecu was reading, set the afr offset, idle is way better than it had been the past couple times I started her and now that my digi cluster is in and speedo is working the car is no longer in limp mode. Time to start getting some logs done!!

The problem with silicone hoses is not slippage, but permeation of coolant through the hose itself and evaporating off without any outward signs of loss of coolant. higher maintenance for sure.

Well I think I spoke too soon! Took the car for a cruise last night and my speedo is not working, I assumed it would as it was displaying 0 on the digi cluster (just never had a chance to go for a drive as the weather has been shitty the past week and I was battling a cold! I've got a brand new speed sensor and gear oem so I'm thinking maybe I got something mixed up. I know when I traced the wires for the speedo on the back of the cluster those were labeled in japanese so I wasnt 100% sure what they were (I know they were for speedo) but the colors of the wires matched so I went ahead and paired them. Every other color matched between my 2 cluster so I made the assumption on those wires. Anyway to check if the speed sensor is just shitty? I know I have the right one! Gonna pull the cluster tomorrow and double check everything. Dave

problem - You matched colors rather than pin outputs

Refer to the wiring diagram exclusively. colors mean nothing when it comes to under dash wiring.

Thanks, Yes I'm going to refer to an fsm tomorrow and pull out the cluster, The only reason I matched those two wires together is because every other pin color matched (should have refered to the fsm before making that decision). So hoping thats my issue and the cluster isnt bad, everything else is in working order. dave

Say what? That's the most ludicrous comment I've about silicone hoses. Never had one issue with them in the past 12 years on my various Nissans and friends' vehicles.
Key is to have all mating surfaces clean and free of corrosion from electrolysis and use quality clamps whether they are worm, wire, or spring clamps.
You can even wipe degreaser on the mating surfaces of the hoses to get the shipped "slippery" feel off.

Do a search on here about silicone hoses and find out what I said is true. YMMV component I guess, but I would never use silicone hoses on my car.

here is a short MotoIQ article about how they are not the best for every situation as well. http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/1246/Silicone-Radiator-Hoses-Not-for-the-Street.aspx

well if your checking the fluid levels on a street car (like you should) then this shouldn't cause an issue even when it is true (the link). Maybe that explains my oil consumption with my g35 sedan: oh wait, I had the issues pre-installing all the silicone hoses haha
I'm ALL for oem rubber for fuel likes and oil lines. But I believe it has enough benefit for water hoses as I'll just keep an eye on the overflow bottle as a gauge Good article. (ps I did my silicone hoses on the g just for the factor it can with stand higher temps and moving to vegas, I wanted to make sure my hoses were up to the heat temp task and also less liking a legit bought silicone hoses will bust vs rubber)
