Thread: How to remove 1/4 window moldings?

Anyone know how to remove the rubber moldings on the rear 1/4 windows? I've been wanting to do this for a while, I PM'd LanceSR20 a while ago because he did it on his B13 but never got a reply. Anyone else did this on their car?

I don't think it's possible. It is basically integral to the glass. Lots of us are buying new OEM glass to replace it.

I'd never pay the prices they want for new oem glass and I think it looks better without the moldings. Guess I'll have to sacrifice my extra set in the shed.

I actually helped him do it. We pretty much just used a box knife and cut the seals off of the window. We then sealed everything properly with black silicone. No leaks as far as I remember. I know of a few people who have done this.

I am so excited about this because my moulding sucks ass and i dont wanna drop all that dough on some new glass just to fix it.
