Any "no bumper" bumper options for the B13?
If you don't know, in 1975 the USA enacted the "5 mph bumper law" to make small dings and crashes at low speed less damaging. Unfortunately, every bumper since then has looked like crap. For example, compare the early Datsun 240Z's beautiful chrome bumpers with the 280Z's ugly park benches.

They figured out how to make bumpers look better since then, but in my opinion they'll never look as good as they did pre-'75. For example, compare the B13 Sentra to the Datsun 510. Both are boxy little cars, very similar really.

The front and back end of the 510 are square. The body panels in the front and back continue all the way down, to the same level as the doors. Then they have a classy little chrome bumper.

The Sentra's bumpers are big and bulky. They stick out from the body panels on the front, back, and sides. Most of all they reduce the "squareness" and boxy presence that the car would otherwise have. It's very apparent if your bumpers are a different color than your car (mine are black on red).

Has anyone ever seen a B13 without the "modern" bumpers? I want to see the grill going straight down from the headlights. Preferably in metal. Either with or without a little chrome bumper. Basically a 510 reincarnated as a B13.

Pics?

The Sunny bumpers for the B13 are short. I have the GT-S front and rear bumpers on my car. I couldn't stand the look of the picnic table oem bumpers.

Bingo. They barely stick out at all.

I first saw them on Dave Colemans SCC SE-R. They look great and save considerable weight off the very ends of the vehicle. Which is good for both weight reduction and distribution.

If I ever decided to change my Classics USDM 5-mph bumpers, those would be the ticket for sure.

I've seen Sunny front bumpers, but I've never seen a side by side comparison of the USDM/JDM bumpers. How much shorter are they?

"Diving boards" is also a good name I've heard.
