Thread: Car running like s**t....suggestions?

Here my deal guys....

Car has been running great until a few weeks ago. Right now the engine "chugs" and "bucks" at idle but anything over 1200 rpms she runs like a raped ape, I'm talkin' squeling the tires into second and third....it's just at idle when it runs like crap. Here is what I have done to remedy the problem....
Initially I knew my timing was off because I was blowing black smoke at the and I burned the shit out of my spark plugs....

Here is what I have done so far.

1. Timing is dead on 17 degrees with a full tank of 92
2. Cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner, performance actually improved.
3. Inspected for vacuum and fuel leaks and there are none. EGR system is plugged.
4. Air filter has been thoroughly cleaned

I know i have good spark, good fuel and good air flow...not sure what direction to go...any suggestions would be appreciated. THX MUCH

what type of plugs are you running and how many miles on them?

My first inclination is a dead O2 sensor. How does it run if you give it like 30% throttle all the way through the rev range in 2nd or 3rd up a hill?

It runs fine through all the other gears Ben. I am almost convinced I need to check or replace my IACV.
