B13 shifter boot upgrade

I need a new shifter boot because I want to get rid of that ugly accordion piece. How do you guys change out the boots because all i see that holds the factory boot in are rubber tabs. Let me know what you guys have came up with.

I am a bit confused about the rubber tabs part but maybe this thread will help out.

My se-r came with a rubber boot. I noticed that yours was leather, are those supposed to be standard with the se-r's. I am guessing that this rubber shifter surround is from a car with a ga engine.

Yeah someone took your leather boot and put the xe ripple boot in. Get a new boot from redlinegoods.com.

The rubber boots are pretty cool. Some 91s came with them.
