LR parking brake won't disengage
This morning the LR parking brake wouldn't disengage, the right would. I tried driving for a bit hoping that it would pop loose but no luck, I stuck her back in the driveway and took the SS to work. Came home moved it 10ft into the garage and jacked it up and everything's working fine now. I pulled the left side apart, check the cable, the piston, the slides and the pads everything is moving freely and I couldn't find anything binding anywhere. I've drove it a couple of miles since putting it back on the ground and used the ebrake several times but everything seems to be fine now. Anybody have any ideas on what might be going on? I really don't want this to happen again while I'm out with my GF or something and don't have tools available. The rear pads have maybe 15k on them and look new, the car has 211k on it. It also has fresh brake fluid in the system bled them when installing the nx brakes and SS lines.

Mine was sticking really bad, especially in the winter months. There was moisture and dirt inside the pass. side e-brake cable and it would get stuck (especially when the temps dropped). Replacing that side of the cable cleared it all up and have had no problems with it since.

This may not help you, but the parking brake on my Colorado used to stick in the winter time, and all I would do is hop out and pull the cable outwards away from the car a little bit and it would free up. Maybe try pulling on the cable a little bit (in a few different directions) and see if it loosens up.....

I had this happen on mine.

It was the Y link where the L & R meet the hand brake cable.

It is suppose to swing freely, but mine was siezed up and rusted, to where it was only at an angle, and had to be relpaced.

Replace the center linkage, the L & R sides are probably fine.

In your case, were both rear brake sticking when your center linkage was seized? In my case it was just the pass side rear. Therefore if both are sticking replace the center linkage and if just one is sticking replace that side's cable?

This has happened to me in the past. Basically what used to happen to me was in winter months the right rear parking brake would stick. What was happening is the "hammer" that the parking brake cables attach to and moves when its engadged would get stuck. Eventually I would just smash it with a hammer watch it as it snapped back into place making a tink noise. Sounds like it could be your issue.
