Lexan windows
Anybody using lexan for the rear side windows in a B13 racecar??
Or any windows on the car for that matter...how do you attach them?.
Any pics or tips would be great!!
Thanks in advance

I did some on a Honda Challenge car once. It's alot of work to do them right. The trick is drilling the holes in them without cracking the lexan. I'me really not a fan of them if i can avoid them.

unless you get the expensive stuff it will scratch and turn yellowish. I did it on my old b13 for the 1/4 windows. I drilled the holes out then held it in with Windowweld as well.

yes def need to get good lexan and then as the previous member stated you have to seal them with window weld or have seen some people use different types of silicone .

If I didn't have new OEM windows with trim to install I would def look into this. I know all the glass in the car is quite heavy.

Lexan is good, acrylic is what you don't want to use, it's very weak and cracks easily especially when cold.

Have a look at my google site. I made Lexan windows for everything but the windshield. I used a windshield adhesive to seal the windows, and put a little foam weatherstripping around the frame to space the window out flush with the body.

I used stainless steel 1/4-20 nuts and bolts to hold the windows in (using the factory holes in the body). I've run this way for more than 5 years without issues.

If you are sloppy though, you will have leaks, so take your time, seal things up nicely, etc.

We can cut these with out laser. Probably do a set of 2 for $175.

We can get any lexan/polycarbonate needed.
