removing sounddeadening?
how would you guys recommend to remove the sound deadening from the b13 chassis? i was told to use dry ice but i dnt really remember how to use it really.apparently all you had to do is lay the dry ice and shortly like a few min the deadening material will sort of freeze and you will be able to lift it but im not too sure if this is true.i know i can simply lift it with a flat head but ive seen it once like that and it left like glue on there ...i want to be able to remove it complete with the glue ...any ideas will be nice thnx

get a puddy knife, chisel, and hammer. Get some dry ice, maybe a couple lbs, and do what you said. Lay it all over one section of the tar on the floorboards until it gets really cold, then move the ice and smack the tar with the hammer and some should shatter off. Once some is up, move the ice around to freeze the next part, and chisel it up. It comes up really easily this way, I got the back ones off in nearly one piece by chiseling them up once they were frozen.

I warn you, this will make your car lauder!

mines peeled right up in my Emodel. but then again my floor was soaked in water, oil, soda, all kinds of nasty shit which lead to the demise of the adhesive

I laid the dry ice on it and hit it with a rubber mallet. Popped right up off the floor.

how much total weight do u think is lost from removing the sound deadning. just wondering if the car being louder is worth it or not

It's close to 50lbs if you get it all.

Yes do not do it unless you plan on strictly racing it. the car gets very noisy and you also get exhaust fumes into the car other than that great to have done you will loose roughly 40-50 lbs and my method was to use a heat gun and a puddy knife that should work just as well as dry ice and less dangerous
