BTW the dash itself weighs only about 10lbs so we are told. To remove it simply for weight reduction isn't really worth it, unless you're doing something else. Or if you REALLY want to be light. it just will look well, like a B13 with no dash

Bumping for my AC install this weekend...

What if you DO have an NX with an airbag??? Aside from disconnecting the battery, is there anything else that needs to be done in this regard?

I never had any issue with airbags. Just disconnect the battery and unhook them.

It is easier to swap the dash if you take the steering wheel off too....not necessary, but worth the extra time,IMO

dash is easy as cake to remove, there are 10mm bolts up top and 10mm nuts at the bottom left and right corners behind the plastic trim. there is also a screw behind the instrument cluster so.... tools required are 10mm socket and a phillips head.

don't need to take out the steering wheel but its easier if you do.

be careful with the covers for the bolts up top because 2 things can happen #1 you can crack your dash popping them out #2 you can break the clips that hold them in.

...to install the evaporator (black box)at least...don't think the 2 ac lines have anything to do with the dash...at least not in my case cuz the car was built without AC.

For the record, I did nothing with the steering wheel or air bag...I thought it was pretty easy to pull the dash out the passenger side with steering wheel intact.

alright. the black box comes out after you remove the glove box. dashboard does not need removal for that task.

Oh forgot to mention, if you are putting this back on, or putting another one on, TRY to rememeber which screws came from where. although most of them fit in the space spots and are interchangeable, many are actually slightly different and it will make a difference if you mix them up in terms of fittment
