my last SE-R had a power rack and "disconnected" power steering.......really wasnt that bad. and im not a big guy. however i fixed it because there was no need for me to try to gain 2/3 HP from it. however i will be getting a manual rack soon and it will be much better because the rack was designed for it....internal gearing is a better ratio.

It will work though, I run a setup with no tensioner. I found a belt that was tight, got it as close to on as we could, got a large flathead screwdriver under it, had one guy crank the engine for a sec and BAM it was on and been there since.

Classicaddict: I have no power steering and don't mind it. Having the cleaner engine bay, a few hp, and never having to worry about leaks is worth it to me but my car is far from a daily driver also. You do feel more in tune with the road while driving though, especially on a road course.

Power steering is over rated lol. For me, it's for a cleaner engine bay and less chance of fluids leaking.

the manual rack is about the same as the disconnected-power rack. the only good thingis that you get almost one full extra rotation of the steering wheel...and the wheel was also larger, so you got extra leverage
