SR swap from b14 to b13 questions
Alright guys, ive got a few questions that im hoping yall can answer for me. Ive got a 96 200sx SE-R with a Euro SR20DE swap that ive been trying to trade for a b13 for a while now. Ive had no luck selling it or trading it, so ive recently started mulling over the idea of parting it out. Well a buddy of mine has an automatic b13 shell that has been sitting behind his garage for a year or so now, that i could get for free. So i got the idea of pulling the sr20de out of my b14, and swapping it into the b13 shell.

My question is, what exactly would i need to swap my obd2 SR from my 200sx to the b13 shell? Would i be able to essentially take everything from my b14 and swap it to the b13? like both the interior and the engine wiring harness? or would i absolutely need to use an obd1 b13 harness? Also, the b13 shell is missing most of the bolts and under hood components. Would i be able to use all the bolts/mounts/etc from my b14?

the problem is, i currently dont have a job, so money is tight...but i need a project to keep me occupied until i find a job. Doing the swap itself is no problem...ive put plenty of wrench time in on b13's, b14's, b15's and NX's. Im just not entirely sure about the wiring. Essentially i plan on completely stripping my b14 down, and swapping everything to the b13 shell. Is my idea easily feasible? or should i just bite the bullet and buy everything needed to convert to obd1? Ive got plenty of time, so i have no problem taking EVERYTHING out of my b14 and swapping it to a b13....but i dont want to start this project, just to run into a dead end halfway through and be screwed. I have the means to swap the motor, trans, 5 speed components, and everything else in between..i just dont want to do all that work, and it end up not working like im hoping it will. If anyone can help me out here, i would greatly appreciate it!

thanks for your help!

I believe you'll be able to accomplish what you're trying to do by doing what you plan on doing. You should be able to use almost everything from the B14 that you need to get the B13 up and going. The engine wiring harness and such from the B14 will go to the B13 and work fine. The B13 will end up being OBDII, but that shouldn't bother you any.

There may be a few small hiccups but for the most part I believe your plan is sound.

you def should be able to do what you need to do, take some time, plan it all out, and you should be fine, take a fine tooth comb as to wht your doing and you'll be good. but def take a fine tooth comb to everything you are doing to make sure you do it right to avoid doing it twice you know, esp when money is tight.

i feel you on the no job its hard out there. keep your head up

this was the first swap i ever did in my B13. all the parts from the B14 will wok on the B13, but when it comes down to the engine harness the B14 engine harness is definately not plug and play. It involved a lot of splicing underneath the dash to make it work. OBDII into a B13 is no joke. later down the road I ended up swapping the 200sx motor for a bluebird. I bought a B13 OBDI harness and JDM ecu for that swap and everything was plug and play.
