PLEASE HELP! B13 Power steering rack problems
So I pulled my rack out of my 1992 Sentra SE-R cause it was leaking like a mofo. Got a 1.6L rack from pull-a-part only to find out it's different and won't work. Then I got a rack out of a 1993 NX2000. It LOOKS the same, but when I bolt it up the knuckle joint on the steering column won't reach the rack. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a different rack? Is there any adjustment that would allow me to use this rack? WTF?!?!?! I've been messing with this rack for like a month now....

According to the carquest catalog they're the same rack. I've never messed with a Nissan steering shaft, but on a toyota steering shaft you can collapse the shaft to slide it on and off the rack. It sounds like you've got it collapsed but now it won't slid back, you might try getting a small hammer and persuade it a to move a little and see you can't get it to uncollapse.

the 1.6 is the manual rack and will work you just need some little things for it to work i believe. should of just eliminated the power steering and looped the rack. no more leaks and less clutter.

how would i do that? today i tried dropping the steering column and steering wheel to look for an adjustment but i couldn't find anything. are you positive they're the same? i don't know how it would be possible, but i swear they're different.

Any way you can get a pic of the steering shaft. Like I said I'm not sure if they're the same as a toyota.
