I like this idea better.
Joe ,your Idea looks good too,but Stratton has a good point about Pearl Harbor

It's light-hearted.

It's a track car, not a DD.

The "enemy" (as noted by the 'kills') is Honda, so it doesn't make sense as a straight up tribute to Japanese Kamikaze.

To me, historically its about as offensive as the Confederate flag on the "General Lee." (remember him?) I know it's not a direct comparison, but it's fairly close.

Agreed.

On a daily driver? HELL NO. Way, way, way too conspicuous.

On a track car? No issues with graphics, wings or out of control paint jobs.

On Stratton's point......

Does it throw off a WWII veteran or their offspring if someone orders a "Kamikaze" at a bar?

On the other hand, I cannot stand the Confederate Flag on anything. A stark reminder of slavery, bigotry, racism, the KKK, and a bunch of sore, ignorant Southern losers. In Northern Louisiana you often see a Confederate flag flying and a "I support David Duke" political sign in the same yards. F*cking lovely sentiment.

Does the Kamikaze paint job (emblem) elicit the same type of negative feelings in other folks?

I didn't know it was for the track. Tear it up if that is the case. I am too much of a DD to think twice it was for a race car.

Yeah its a track car but if something breaks down. Joe drives the SER and who ever is car less drives the g20. I say sand and prime the bad places until next year. No sense in attracting problems. You do live in Georgia and some old cop that was in the military might mess with you because he can. I say just prime the places that are bad and call i a day. Myself I think it looks cool. But the older I get I realize if I can take a step away from controversy I make sure I DO IT.

Add one more to the like column. I don't think it's nearly as offensive as it might have been years ago. There was a BMW at the GRM challenge a few years ago painted like an ME109. (WWII Luftwaffe fighter)

What about a removable vynil wrap? Keep it on as long as you like it, but if you don't anymore you've got an out.

I think it's pretty cool. I agree that dressing it up with a stylized sun on it (something that goes from back of front fender at a slant up to shoulder line crease and stays within that).

Joe, you wouldn't even need to do a whole wrap. Just primer the car with white primer, then stick the design you want on.

I think that would be your best bet as well.,

just white primer or paint the car a nice white and put the design in vinyl, the vinyl will last about 4-5 years in your climate area before it will need replacing,,

let me know what you decide and I'll cut the vinyl and bring it up with me on my next trip up north,(this summer) , and we will put it on there for ya..
