Uh...no way. Not for me. Not for a daily-driver.

AC is not an option on a daily-driver in Houston. Period.

I actually put in more sound insulation when I rebuilt my Classic. Had the entire interior (which was bare metal/paint at the time) sprayed with a sound deadener. I also foamed the sh*t out my chassis to make it stiffer and...bonus...quieter.

When I am VE'd, I'd rather run a 13.9 second quarter mile in style, than rip out 200 pounds worth of comfort from my cabin and run a 13.7 with swamp-ass and enough noise and racket to cause a migraine. F*ck that.

However, the bumper supports I could live without, or the Sunny conversion looks like a great weight loss with no loss of comfort or OEM stealth. I'd also do a CF hood and trunk (painted to match) with no issues. The only "give away" would be the (Aerocatch) hood pins. I've got a Odyssey battery which does not hinder daily driving capabilities in the least.

I'd love to lose a several dozen or more pounds (a couple hundred would be sweet) off my ride, but NOT at the expense of daily driver civility.

My car is not gutted from the front seats back. I painted all the metal panels OEM red all the way into the trunk.

If its a daily driver, I agree with Shawn, the swamp ass is not worth the extra 2 tenths of a second off your quarter mile time. My G20 is full interior, with extra cold AC. If I want to go faster, I turn up the boost

Unfortunately, I have to endure severe swamp ass on long trips to have fun up in CT. Previous owner ripped out the A/C and I no longer have the parts to install it.

The thought of a 2,0xxlb classic would be lovely though considering how heavy it is now.

my interior setup is like prodrifter's. full interior from front seats go forward. carpet is still there. no back seats. no sound deadening. trunk completely gutted. all bare metal painted black to match the car. i did it so there wouldnt be any chance of using my car when i have to go out with friends. i love it.

i think you got to do smething tasteful if you go with gutting your car at least try not to make it look like its gutted.

but i dont really see the point of completely gutting your car though, is it really going to make your car that much faster vs how much it takes away from ewhat the car looks like, i donno

Thats true, I hear you on that. I figure it would be pretty harsh inside. I think with a couple hundred pounds out of it, the car would be different in the 1/4. Kinda like having 2 passengers in the car. When I was boosted, I never cared since I could always turn up the boost and have everyone hang out. Now that the car is N/A, its like every pound counts, lol.

My car is tracked as well so power to weight ratio is key.

and yeah, when I have a passenger in the car, i feel like i lost 10hp. haha

I agree with you boys as well but, IMHO when the car is just a weekend warrior then I don't see anything wrong with taking out some weight. I for one love the rigid look of a gutted car. Especially if everything is painted nicely.

I took the AC out of my Classic when it became a garage queen
