Automatic swap for 5-Speed?
There's a rear-ended B13 (1993) at the local scrapyard that has a nice 5-speed in it. If I were to buy it from him, how difficult would it be to convert my car to a 5-speed? I hate automatics .

I have a '94 Sentra Limited Edition 4-door, GA16 stock.

its not too dificult ived helped a few honda guys convert crx and efs to 5 speed, just have to get the supporting hardware for them along with the 5 speed transmission, clutch cable, pedals, cms is dydraulic, most likely be cable, but its pretty simple probably a weekend job if you have all the needed tools

i have done this twice on b13s you will need both clutch and break peddles clutch cables flywheel clutch axles wire harnes the you will have to cut the stamp out on the fire wall for the cable and drill mounting holes for peddle be carefull doing so also neutral safety switch becomes a problem i hade to do a button start witch is way easeir than finding a salution other than that you need to find out if its a cable or electronic sppedo any more questions let me know

to be honest it would probably be more worthwhile to do a complete 5 speed sr20 swap that just do a ga16 5sp swap more gains doing that imho

sr20de engines really arent that expensive however the price does go up when you get into the parts that are worth replacing while the engine is completely out which isnt 100 percent needed but replacing stuff like timing chain, water pump, spark plugs, wiries, yada yada while the engine is out before going in is definitly worth it

I assume doing a 5-speed swap on my current motor would be cheaper, but what would be easier?

well considering the ga16 is not a performanced based motor if you never wanted to mod the car for power then doing the 5sp ga16 swap would be easiier

however if you wanted to modd the engine and get some performaance then the full engine swap would pay off in the long run
