se-r for swift gti?
My buddy is into suzuki swift gt. He has a couple of them and a boosted metro convert that is just wicked fast. Im thinking of trading my se-r for this car. I dont have pics of it but its in decent shape and its white. My se-r is very clean and black

The mods on both are:
Suzuki
intake, exhaust and factory recaros, no air..older white team dynamics wheels. This car weighs a tick under 1700 lbs. It has about 120 hp at the flywheel, has factory recaros, no a/c and no stereo.

The se-r
stillen intake, stillen catback, tints, kumho ecstas on b14s 626 lip, nardi wheel and a few nismo trinkets. It has a/c and the pop out issue.

His zuk handles a bit better, is a bit quicker but is kind of archaic. I like that..kind of lightweiight racey feel. The cars can surprise alot of folks and he has the parts to boost it. They take to boost at least as good as the sr does and the funny thing is the engine block in these cars are numbered with a b13. The se-r is quieter a bit nicer to look at and has a/c. Neither would be a daily, just a toy, auto-x car. I love hatches but i know how hard it is to find a rust free b13. Any suggestions? I dont have the funds to fix the pop out stuff right now...he can do it himself. So i appreciate any input. If it matters both cars are a ball to drive and i like them both alot.

Its cool that the swift only weighs 1700lbs, and has some trick stuff, but it will always be someone else's build. I personally don't think you ever get attached to a car unless you build it up yourself. Sounds like a nice car though.

Heh, based on your sig I'm hesitant to offer you my opinion...

Both cars are a blast and the lightweight Zuk would be fun on an autox course where tossability trumps power. That said, a B13 is really tossable too and you've barely scratched the surface of the potential of your car. Get yourself a B15 trans, lightened flywheel, progress RSTB, and castor bushings, and prepare to fall in love with your B13 again. If you are only going to do autox's in them, I'd say it is a toss-up, probably favoring the Zuk a bit. However, you know your B13, how it feels, how it handles, what it needs. Personally, I wouldn't make the trade, but I'm sentimental to my car and nothing will ever replace it. And the Zuk looks like a cheap econobox, much more so than a B13, but you seem to appreciate that. Why don't you trade for a week and see what you think?
