well i have a buddy with a machine shop that can produce the threaded bars for us.. all we would have to do is buy the links seperatly.

if someone that has already built these can get me all the specs of the threaded bars themselves i can get them mass produced. then all you have to do is buy the end links yourself.

That's not all there is to it. There are conical spacers that need to be sourced. These are the complicated part. Otherwise I'd have built my own all ready. I haven't bothered trying to source them though.

ya i figured that much.. but instead of having to buy the bar and the threaded end link then have it welded together (like viperoni). i can get the bars with threads all one piece.. well ill probably do it for my own car if no one is into it.. viperoni you have a pm

Anyone can get threaded rods and end links here as I posted previously: Rod End Supply and other places. (I really need to call him and have him fix his web site.)
It's those cones that are the killer.

There's no need for high misalignment bushings because the arms would never twist that much in that direction, even when installing them.

I got a quote for machining pre-made misalignment bushings, but it was quote pricey. More than the cost of 8 good quality teflon + chromoly rod ends.

As far as bar construction, you can't use threaded rod because you need to have both a left and right rod end on the same bar. Since threaded rod (usually) doesn't change thread direction, this isn't possible.

My latest set of bars I'm building for someone use mild steel tubing and chromoly threaded inserts for durability.


I can happily report that my bars made it through about 25 laps on a lapping day at Cayuga (Toronto Motorsports Park) last Saturday with flying colours. Lots of grip on the rear end, and the NX did GREAT considering it didn't have a lot done to it, and it's an auto. LOTS of fun
This was after approx. 4,000kms of street usage too, with Hyperco Gen2's and AGX's on 4/8.

I'll agree with you that the high misalignment bushings likely won't be necessary for anyone, however you still have to do something like spacers or similar. Honestly, I'd love for someone else to do all the work and just give a parts list and save me all the time. =]

Exactly, the spacers are abolustely neccessasry for the normal street/road race version of the bars.

I do have a "drag only" design, which uses smaller and weaker rod ends and because of that, doesn't need spacers, but again that's only meant for dragging. It would *probably* be enough for road racing, but I'd rather overbuild and not have to worry about a single thing.

I might end up just producing the spacers, shipping the rods and inserts into Canada is expensive, and shipping the completed units out is expensive too.
I should have more info by mid next week.
